Small update to my last reply. Small search returns were OK, but when I tried larger search words (i.e. 'band') I still got small playback interruption. Task manager priority did nothing for this, changing the preferences in Winamp itself to high priority, however, has cured all stutter no matter what I type in the search box. Sorted.
