Originally posted by VWBUG Is it possible to give songs more than one genre?, say a 70's rock song. Can it be given 70's and Rock.
Yes and No. Normally the ID3V2 Field supports only one genre, but you can name this genre as you want (unlike ID3V1). So there is absolutely nothing that would stop you from having a genre "70s", a genre "Rock" and then yet another genre "70s Rock" etc, simply adding all genres that a song is part of, one after the other, in the genre field. The downside is that every possible combination of genres will create a new seperate genre in the genre list. But the big advantage is that in Autplay mode, you can work with genre "contains"-type of filters. So when you want really only 70s Rock, you put that in the filter. If you want all 70s, you simply put "contains 70s" in the filter and get all songs tagged as "70s" plus "70s Rock" as well.
